    Discover the Magic of Morocco

    Day 1: Casablanca – Marrakech

Upon your arrival at Casablanca airport, you will be met by your driver and transferred directly to Marrakech. Known as the “Red City” for its distinctive pink-hued buildings, Marrakech offers a vibrant introduction to Morocco. We’ll take you to check into your accommodation. In the evening, get a first taste of the city’s magic with a visit to the famous Djemaa El-Fna square, alive with storytellers, musicians, snake charmers, and food stalls. Overnight stay in a riad or hotel within the medina.

Day 2: Guided Marrakech city tour

After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of Marrakech. Explore the historical and cultural highlights, potentially including the Koutoubia Mosque (exterior view), the opulent Bahia Palace, and the Saadian Tombs. Immerse yourself in the bustling atmosphere of the souks within the ancient medina, discovering traditional crafts and vibrant spices. The tour will also revisit the Djemaa El-Fna square, understanding its significance by day. Overnight stay in your Marrakech riad/hotel.

Day 3: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate

Following breakfast, our journey heads south towards the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the dramatic Tizi n’Tichka pass (2260m). We’ll take a detour to visit the historic Telouet Kasbah, former seat of the Glaoui clan. As we descend, enjoy the changing landscapes and pass through traditional Berber villages. We’ll stop for lunch at a mountainside restaurant. Later, we follow the scenic Ounila Valley route to reach the magnificent Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous as a backdrop for many films. Explore this iconic fortified village before continuing to Ouarzazate for the night. Overnight stay in a hotel or riad.

Day 4: Ouarzazate – Skoura – Rose Valley – Dades Valley

Today, we continue our journey towards the Dades Valley. Our first stop is the Skoura Oasis, a beautiful palm grove where we’ll visit the well-preserved Kasbah Amerhidil. We then drive through Kelaa M’Gouna, the heart of the Rose Valley, known for its annual rose festival (time permitting and depending on the season, you might find rose products). Lunch will likely be enjoyed en route. We continue to Boumalne Dades and enter the stunning Dades Valley with its unique rock formations known as “monkey fingers.” Overnight stay in a hotel or kasbah nestled in the Dades Valley or near the Gorges.

Day 5: Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga desert

After breakfast, we leave the Dades Valley and head to Tinghir to explore the spectacular Todra Gorge. Take time to walk along the riverbed between the towering canyon walls, a famous spot for rock climbers. We then continue our journey towards the Sahara desert, passing through Tinjdad and Erfoud (known for its fossils). We may stop for lunch in Rissani, the ancient capital of the Tafilalet region. In the afternoon, we arrive at the edge of the Merzouga desert. Here, you’ll embark on a camel trek into the stunning Erg Chebbi dunes to reach your desert camp (bivouac). Witness the sunset over the sands, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner under the stars, and experience Berber music around the campfire before spending the night in a desert tent.

Day 6: Merzouga desert – Ziz Valley – Midelt

Wake early to experience the magic of a desert sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. After this memorable moment, ride your camels back to the hotel/auberge at the dune line for breakfast and a shower. We then begin our journey north towards Midelt, travelling through the scenic Ziz Valley, known for its vast palm groves and fortified ksars. Midelt, located in the foothills of the Middle Atlas, is famous for its apple orchards and mineral mines. Overnight stay in a local hotel in Midelt.

Day 7: Midelt – Azrou Cedar Forest – Fes

After breakfast, we depart Midelt and travel towards Fes, crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains. We will pass through Ifrane, often called “Morocco’s Little Switzerland” due to its alpine-style architecture. Our route takes us through the Cedar Forest near Azrou, where you’ll have the chance to see Barbary macaques in their natural habitat. Upon arrival in Fes in the afternoon, check into your accommodation. The rest of the day might offer some free time depending on arrival time. Overnight stay in a Fes riad or hotel.

    Day 8: Fes city tour

Today is dedicated to exploring Fes, one of Morocco’s oldest imperial cities and its spiritual heart. Your guided tour will delve into the fascinating Fes el-Bali (Old Medina), a UNESCO World Heritage site. Highlights include visiting the gates of the Royal Palace, walking through the Mellah (Jewish Quarter), admiring the intricate details of Medersas (Islamic schools) like Bou Inania or Al-Attarine, seeing the famous Tanneries (from a viewpoint), the Nejjarine Fountain, and the Kairaouine Mosque & University (exterior view). We’ll also visit a local ceramic cooperative. In the late afternoon, enjoy free time to wander the labyrinthine streets of the medina at your own pace. Overnight stay and dinner at your riad/hotel in Fes.

    Day 9: Fes – Casablanca

After breakfast, we depart from Fes and drive west back to Casablanca. While Casablanca has ancient roots, its modern development accelerated significantly in the early 20th century, making it Morocco’s primary commercial hub. Upon arrival, time permitting, we will visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the world, known for its stunning architecture and location partially over the Atlantic Ocean. Check into your hotel for your final night. Overnight stay and dinner in Casablanca.
