Itineray of 8 days tour from Casablanca

    Discover the Magic of Morocco

    Day 1: Casablanca –  Rabat –  Meknes – Fes

Your Moroccan adventure begins with a pick-up from the Casablanca airport or your accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, there may be an opportunity to view the exterior of the magnificent Hassan II Mosque. We then drive north to Rabat, Morocco’s administrative capital. Here, we’ll visit the Hassan Tower, an iconic minaret of an incomplete mosque, and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. Afterwards, we continue our journey, potentially passing through or making a brief stop in the Imperial city of Meknes, before arriving in Fes. Check into your traditional Riad for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Fes Sightseeing tour with a local guide

After breakfast at your Riad, you’ll meet your expert local guide for a full-day exploration of Fes el-Bali, the ancient walled Medina (a UNESCO World Heritage site). This immersive guided tour will unveil the city’s rich history and culture as you navigate its labyrinthine streets. Highlights include visiting the gates of the Royal Palace, exploring the Mellah (historic Jewish Quarter), admiring the intricate architecture of Medersas (Islamic schools), viewing the famous Tanneries from a terrace viewpoint, and soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of the traditional souks. Overnight stay at your Riad in Fes.

    Day 3: Fes – Azrou – Medilt – Merzouga

Continuing our journey south after breakfast (departing around 8:30 am), we travel towards the Sahara Desert. Our route takes us through Ifrane, often called “Morocco’s Switzerland,” and into the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas near Azrou, where you can often spot Barbary macaques. We proceed towards Midelt, known for its apple orchards and minerals. The landscape changes as we journey through the picturesque Ziz Valley, renowned for its extensive palm groves and fortified ksars (villages). We pass through Erfoud, a town famous for its fossilized marble, and Rissani, a historic trading center. Finally, we arrive at Merzouga, the gateway to the spectacular Erg Chebbi dunes. Overnight stay near the dunes.

Day 4: Tour around Erg Chebbi dunes

Today is dedicated to exploring the captivating landscape surrounding the Erg Chebbi dunes by 4×4 vehicle. We’ll visit the seasonal lake of Merzouga (often attracting flamingos when filled with water) and head to Khamlia village, where you can experience traditional Gnawa music performed by descendants of sub-Saharan Africans.

We may also visit abandoned mines from the colonial era and enjoy panoramic views from various points, including an oasis of palm trees. A highlight is often visiting a nomadic Berber family to learn about their traditional lifestyle. After the excursion (lunch will be arranged during the tour), you’ll return to the edge of the dunes to begin your camel trek into the heart of Erg Chebbi, witnessing the sunset over the sands before arriving at your desert camp for dinner and an overnight stay under the stars.

Day 5: Merzouga – Rissani souk – Erfoud – Dades Valley

Wake up early to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the Sahara dunes – a truly memorable experience. Afterwards, enjoy breakfast at the camp before riding your camels (or taking a 4×4 transfer) back to the dune line. We then depart for the Dades Valley. If it’s a market day (typically Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday), we may visit the bustling traditional souk in Rissani. Our journey continues through Erfoud (known for fossils) and Jorf. We proceed to the stunning Todra Gorges, where you can walk along the riverbed between towering canyon walls. From Todra, we continue our drive to the beautiful Dades Valley, known for its dramatic rock formations. Overnight stay in a hotel or kasbah in the Dades Valley.

Day 6: Dades – Skoura Oasis – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After breakfast, we travel along the “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs,” passing through traditional Berber villages often constructed from mud-brick. Our route takes us through the lush Skoura Oasis, famous for its palm groves and historic kasbahs like Kasbah Amerhidil. We continue to Ouarzazate, often nicknamed the “Hollywood of Africa,” where we can visit the impressive Taourirt Kasbah and potentially the Atlas Film Studios.

The journey then leads us to the renowned Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1987. This remarkably preserved fortified village has been the backdrop for numerous famous films and series, including “Lawrence of Arabia,” “Gladiator,” and “Game of Thrones.” After exploring Ait Ben Haddou, we begin the scenic drive towards Marrakech, crossing the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi N’Tichka pass (2260m), enjoying panoramic views of the mountains and valleys. Upon arrival in Marrakech, you will be dropped off at your accommodation.

Day 7: Marrakech Sightseeing tour with a local guide

Around 9:00 am, after breakfast, you’ll meet your local guide for a comprehensive tour exploring the vibrant “Red City” of Marrakech. Most of the day will focus on the historical Medina and its key landmarks. You will visit iconic sites such as the Koutoubia Mosque (exterior view), the Saadian Tombs, the beautiful Bahia Palace, and immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere of Djemaa el Fna square and the surrounding souks. Depending on the specific tour arrangement, visits to other significant sites like the Majorelle Garden or Menara Gardens might also be included. Overnight stay in Marrakech.
